Jon joined the firm after graduating from law school at the University of Oregon in 1982. Jon enjoys representing a wide variety of businesses and individuals and providing the quality and care their legal work deserves.
Jon’s practice focuses on employment and business law, as well as matters pertaining to transportation law, real estate and estate planning.
Jon assists the firm’s business clients in handling employment related issues. Jon has experience meeting the employment needs of small, medium and large size businesses. Jon provides counseling to employers in a wide array of areas, including non-competition and confidentiality agreements, employee discipline, drug testing, accommodation of disabled individuals, and human resources policies and procedures.
Jon’s work in the area of transportation law includes representation of several railroads on a variety of business, property, regulatory and litigation matters.
Jon is a member of the Board of Directors of Oregon Business & Industry (formerly known as Associated Oregon Industries) and continues to be involved with the local organizing committee for the U.S. Olympic Trials for track and field. Jon also serves as trustee for The Coeta and Donald Barker Foundation, which supports many charitable causes in Oregon and Southern California.
Jon is an avid sports fan and plays on several softball teams. Jon’s wife, Janet, is a retired elementary school teacher in Springfield. Their two daughters, Aubrey and Chloe, are also graduates of Washington State University.
