Ian’s practice focuses on estate planning, succession planning, and business law.
Since 1997, Ian has helped his business clients meet a variety of challenges, from start-up to merger/acquisition. Often serving in the role of general counsel, Ian is experienced in corporate governance and finance, mergers and acquisitions, real estate sales and leases, technology licensing and development, and a broad spectrum of other commercial transactions.
Ian is also an experienced estate planning/administration lawyer, and his practice has involved sophisticated tax planning and compliance work since he graduated from law school with an emphasis in federal tax law. Ian is deeply experienced in the creation and implementation of complex, intergenerational wealth transfer and protection plans. With over 20 years’ experience and a client base of business owners, Ian’s estate planning practice has matured to include a substantial amount of business succession planning.
Ian’s experience in tax law, corporate governance, and estate planning comes together in the representation of nonprofit organizations, with a focus on foundations and charitable trusts. Ian also represents charitable donors in the course of his tax and estate planning practice.
